Singer Song Min Ho (Mino), a member of the group WINNER, has been sent to trial on charges related to alleged negligent service during his time as a public service worker.
On December 31, the Criminal Division 1 of the Seoul Western District Prosecutors’ Office, led by Chief Prosecutor Won Shin Hye, announced that it had indicted Song Min Ho and the official responsible for overseeing his service without detention on charges of violating the Military Service Act.
According to prosecutors, Song Min Ho repeatedly failed to report for duty without authorization while serving as a public service worker between 2023 and 2024 at a community convenience facility in Mapo District, Seoul. He is accused of leaving his workplace after merely signing the attendance log and failing to adhere to designated working hours, in violation of military service regulations.
The official in charge of managing Song Min Ho’s service is also accused of neglecting supervisory duties by failing to properly manage and discipline him despite being aware of his repeated negligence.
Prosecutors stated that they secured objective evidence, including mobile phone forensic data and GPS records, and conducted supplementary investigations based on this material. In addition to the charges forwarded by the police, the investigation reportedly uncovered further instances of unauthorized absences by Song Min Ho.
