Rapper MC Mong has come under fire after deleting a social media post in which he defended comedian Park Na Rae and broadcaster Jo Se Ho, following mounting criticism over his remarks.
As previously reported, MC Mong shared a lengthy message on December 14 criticizing what he described as the entertainment industry’s tendency to force celebrities out of their careers immediately after controversies arise. He argued that entertainers are punished more harshly than public officials and questioned why celebrities are expected to disappear entirely after being scolded.
In the same post, MC Mong referenced past variety show remarks by Lee Hyo Ri and Yang Se Chan about Park Na Rae’s drinking habits, stating that they were merely private jokes and should not be retroactively used as ammunition during scandals. He also urged Park Na Rae and Jo Se Ho to address the situation directly rather than remain silent, saying that those who are at fault should take responsibility, while those who are innocent should clearly state the facts.
However, the post quickly drew backlash. Many criticized MC Mong for inserting himself into ongoing legal disputes and controversies that he is not directly involved in, arguing that his comments were premature and oversimplified issues that have yet to be fully clarified. Others felt that offering pointed advice in such a sensitive situation only added fuel to the fire.
Shortly afterward, MC Mong deleted the post and uploaded a brief follow-up message stating that he had no intention of provoking controversy. Despite this, criticism continued, with netizens expressing that his involvement had only complicated matters further.

While Park Na Rae and Jo Se Ho remain under scrutiny for their respective controversies, public opinion has largely shifted toward questioning MC Mong’s decision to speak out at this time.
Many online commenters noted that silence may have been the more appropriate response, with some stating that his intervention did little to help the situation.
