The woman known as the so-called “Injection Aunt,” who has been accused of providing illegal medical treatments to comedian Park Na Rae and other celebrities, has been placed under a travel ban.
On December 31 KST, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul confirmed that Lee, identified as the individual in question, has been barred from leaving the country on charges of violating the Medical Service Act for administering IV injections and other medical procedures without proper authorization or a medical license to Park Na Rae. Lee is currently under police investigation for allegedly engaging in illegal medical practices and proxy prescriptions not only involving Park Na Rae but also other well-known celebrities.
Following the emergence of the “Injection Aunt” controversy surrounding Park Na Rae, Lee took to social media to claim that she was a licensed doctor. She posted photos of herself wearing a medical gown at a hospital in Inner Mongolia, China, alongside a statement saying she had “studied with great difficulty while traveling back and forth to Inner Mongolia for 12 to 13 years, and served as the youngest professor, and the first Korean and foreign national, at Inner Mongolia Pugang Medical University Hospital.”
In response, Lim Hyun Taek, president of the Korean Pediatric Association, filed a criminal complaint against Lee through the government petition platform, accusing her of violating both the Medical Service Act and the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act. He also formally requested that authorities impose a travel ban.
With Lee now barred from leaving the country, police investigations are expected to gain momentum. As a result, there is growing speculation that additional celebrities who allegedly received illegal medical treatments from Lee may also be identified as the probe continues.
