A German woman identified as Ms. A, who raised allegations regarding actor Lee Yi Kyung’s private life, has shared an update on the status of her legal actions.
On December 30 KST, Ms. A wrote on her social media account, stating that “my conversations with the actor (Lee Yi Kyung) began through Instagram DMs and later moved to KakaoTalk, where sexually explicit conversations took place.” She added that “in the early stages, I did partially go along with some of the exchanges, but over time, the level and content of the conversations became increasingly serious.”
She continued, “The fact that I partially engaged in sexual conversation does not mean I consented to everything that followed. After hearing remarks this April that evoked rape, I decided I could no longer endure the situation and chose to cut off all communication and come forward.”
Addressing claims that she demanded money from the agency, Ms. A said she wanted to correct the record. “In April, I heard remarks from Lee Yi Kyung that evoked rape, and I compiled materials documenting problematic behavior that had continued even before that, which I then reported to his agency. At no point did I engage in threats or make any financial demands.”
She emphasized, “If I had intended to threaten or demand money, I would have mentioned press exposure first and used that as leverage in negotiations. I did nothing of the sort.” She added that after being contacted by Lee Yi Kyung, she felt guilty and conveyed her intention to withdraw both the agency report and media tip.
Listing alleged sexually harassing remarks, Ms. A stated that she has requested assistance from the Korean Embassy in Germany and added, “These statements are based on facts, and if an investigation proceeds, I request sincere cooperation with forensic procedures from the other party.” She stressed, “This is not merely a private matter but an issue of public responsibility and social influence. I am continuing my response to clarify the facts with regard to the actor and his agency.”
Ms. A also released screenshots of Lee Yi Kyung’s KakaoTalk profile and a selfie he allegedly sent during casual conversation, stating that “these images were not generated by AI nor manipulated.” The KakaoTalk profile shown reportedly included the message “I don’t use KakaoTalk. Please contact me by text message,” with the background music set to “Fate,” a song Lee Yi Kyung released this year with Monday Kidz.
Previously, Ms. A had shared conversations allegedly containing profanity and sexually explicit language, along with exchanged photos, sparking controversy. She later apologized, claiming the materials were manipulated using AI, but days later reversed her position, stating that the evidence was real.
In response, Lee Yi Kyung’s agency, Sangyoung Entertainment, announced that it is preparing legal action over the spread of false information and malicious rumors. The agency stated that after swiftly filing a complaint and completing the complainant’s statement, the process of identifying the accused and concluding the investigation will take time. Emphasizing that such acts are punishable both domestically and internationally, the agency said it will continue to respond firmly without leniency, regardless of how long the process takes.
