aespa’s Karina has drawn attention after behind-the-scenes footage captured her adorably flustered reaction to carrying a baby for the first time.
On the 15th, the Dolphiners YouTube channel released a video titled “Shin Woo Seok’s Urban Fairy Tale | ‘The Christmas Song’ Part.1,” featuring Karina alongside Jang Won Young and Byeon Woo Seok. Following the previously released teaser, the first full episode portrays a storyline in which Karina plays a nun who raises an abandoned baby at a church—who later grows up to become a priest played by Byun Woo Seok.
In the main video, Karina convincingly portrays a nun unfamiliar with raising children, naturally filming scenes that show her feeding a newborn formula and playing with the baby. Soon after, a behind-the-scenes clip of Karina attempting to carry the baby surfaced online and quickly gained attention.
Having never carried a baby before, Karina is seen carefully supporting the child out of concern for the baby’s safety, while visibly struggling and panicking at the same time. The baby appeared uncomfortable on her back and refused to cooperate during filming, turning the set into a burst of laughter.
The mother of child actor Lim Si Hyun, later shared her gratitude on social media. She wrote that she had been eager to tell everyone about filming with Karina, adding that despite the cold weather, Karina constantly checked on her child and even offered her own hand warmer to keep him warm.
She also expressed appreciation for Karina’s kindness throughout the shoot, noting that filming day coincided with her son’s birthday, and that he said the experience of filming with Karina was the best birthday present he could have received.
Meanwhile, Karina stars in director Shin Woo Seok’s year-end original content series 'Shin Woo Seok’s Urban Fairy Tale'. Lim Si Hyun plays Vincenzio, the younger version of Byun Woo Seok’s character, while Karina portrays the nun who raises him. The project has received praise for its star-studded cast, which also includes IVE’s Jang Won Young, Park Hee Soon, and Moon So Ri.
