On November 6, the YouTube channel channel fullmoon posted several photos with the caption, “Reply 1988 10th Anniversary, see you this winter.” The images showcased the cast of the hit tvN drama 'Reply 1988' gathering for a special MT (membership training) event celebrating the series’ 10th anniversary.
The photos featured Hyeri, Park Bo Gum, Lee Dong Hwi, Go Kyung Pyo, Kim Sung Kyun, Ra Mi Ran, Lee Il Hwa, Choi Sung Won, Choi Moo Sung, Ryu Hye Young, and Lee Min Ji, among others. Fans were delighted to see the actors faithfully recreating the iconic fashions from the show, adding a playful and nostalgic touch to the reunion.
Notably, Ryu Jun Yeol, one of the drama’s lead actors, was absent from the photos. His agency previously explained, “Due to scheduling conflicts, Ryu Jun Yeol could not join the MT in its entirety, but he did participate in some portions of the shoot for the 10th-anniversary content.”
'Reply 1988' originally aired from November 2015 to January 2016 and depicted the lively everyday lives of five families living in Ssangmun-dong during the late 1980s. The series achieved a peak nationwide viewership rating of 18.8% (Nielsen Korea, nationwide pay-TV households), becoming a beloved cultural phenomenon.
The show also sparked real-life romance between leads Hyeri and Ryu Jun Yeol, who publicly confirmed their relationship in August 2017. After seven years of dating, the couple announced their breakup in November 2023. Following the split, Ryu Jun Yeol was briefly linked to actress Han So Hee in March 2024, which drew public attention when Hyeri commented “Funny” on Instagram. The rumored relationship ended just two weeks later.
