Actor Lee Junho has been confirmed to star as the new lead in the upcoming film 'Veteran 3.'
According to a report on November 11 KST, Lee Junho will join the third installment of the Veteran series as one of its main protagonists.
Directed by Ryu Seung Wan, the Veteran franchise is an action-crime investigation saga that follows the relentless detective Seo Do Cheol (played by Hwang Jung Min) as he pursues criminals with unwavering determination.
The first 'Veteran' film, released in 2015, became a box-office phenomenon, attracting over 13.41 million viewers. Its sequel, 'Veteran 2', released last year, also triumphed at the box office, drawing 7.52 million moviegoers despite a challenging market.
At the end of 'Veteran 2', a post-credits scene teased the next installment — revealing that Park Sun Woo (Jung Hae In) had escaped custody — fueling anticipation for Veteran 3. With Lee Junho’s addition, attention now turns to what kind of role he will take on and how his chemistry with Hwang Jung Min will unfold on screen.
Currently, Lee Junho is starring in the tvN drama 'Typhoon Company,' which has achieved impressive ratings of 9.4% (nationwide paid households, Nielsen Korea). Following his next Netflix project 'Cashero,' Lee’s involvement in 'Veteran 3' signals a busy and highly anticipated lineup, solidifying his status as one of Korea’s most bankable stars and true “box-office kings.”
