K-pop artists are heading to Japan’s biggest year-end music festival.
On November 14, NHK announced the performer lineup for the '76th NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen' on its official website, confirming appearances by ILLIT, aespa, &TEAM, and more.
ILLIT returns to the Kōhaku stage for the second consecutive year, while aespa and &TEAM will both be making their debut appearances at the prestigious event.
'Kōhaku Uta Gassen' is NHK’s annual New Year’s Eve broadcast on December 31, featuring artists who have made remarkable achievements throughout the year.
ILLIT earned a Gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan for “Almond Chocolate,” her film soundtrack release. In September, she made her official Japanese debut with her first single, 'Toki Yo Tomare,' which dominated top positions on Oricon and Billboard Japan.
aespa became the first overseas female group to perform at Tokyo Dome for two consecutive years. This year, they also won “Best Song Asia” at the Music Awards Japan.
&TEAM topped the Oricon Daily Album Ranking with their first Korean mini album 'Back to Life,' and achieved million-seller status for the second year in a row.
The '76th NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen' will air on December 31 at 7:20 PM local time.
