Controversy continues to grow over the sender of a text message recently released by the late actress Kim Sae Ron’s family. The family claimed that the late actress was in a romantic relationship with an actor while she was still a minor, but the actor identified in their claim, Kim Soo Hyun, has denied the allegation.
According to Money Today, which obtained Kim Soo Hyun’s June 2016 schedule, the actor was filming the movie 'Real' at that time. Reports state that Kim Soo Hyun participated in filming for more than 18 days that month, coinciding with the period during which Kim Sae Ron’s family said she exchanged text messages with an anonymous man. Kim Soo Hyun was reportedly on set early in the morning and left only after completing his schedule each day. Money Today noted that it would have been implausible for Kim Soo Hyun, who was occupied with filming all day, to have arranged a date with Kim Sae Ron during that period.
Earlier, the late actress’s family’s legal representative held a press conference revealing that Kim Sae Ron had exchanged intimate messages with a man in 2016. The man allegedly sent affectionate texts such as “Give me a kiss later” and “When can I fall asleep in your arms?” The family claims that the man in those messages was Kim Soo Hyun.
However, Kim Soo Hyun’s side refuted the claim, saying there is “no evidence identifying the sender.” His legal representative stated, “There is nothing in the messages that confirms the sender was Kim Soo Hyun.”
Meanwhile, Kim Sae Ron’s family, through YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute, alleged that Kim Soo Hyun maintained a relationship with her from late 2015—when she was still a minor—until July 2021. Kim Soo Hyun’s agency denied this, asserting that their relationship lasted only for one year, from the summer of 2019 to the fall of 2020.
