Broadcaster Poongja shared a heartwarming encounter with viewers and an unexpected personal experience on her YouTube channel.
In a recent episode of 'Repeat Restaurant' uploaded to the 'Studio Suje' channel, Poongja visited a restaurant recommended by a local merchant, known for its braised cutlassfish and grilled mackerel. After placing her order, Poongja cheerfully asked the customers at the next table, "Mothers, how many times have you come here?"
The customers replied, "We usually go to Jungang, but we heard this place was good, so it's our first time here." They then revealed that they were fans of Poongja and 'Repeat Restaurant,' saying, "We watch your YouTube, what you're filming now."
Upon hearing that, Poongja immediately responded, "Thank you. Please enjoy your meal comfortably, I’ll pay for it."
The customers said, "We ordered a lot! We got two servings of cutlassfish and heard the stir-fried squid here is good." Poongja jokingly replied, "Mothers, I’ll treat you. Enjoy your meal, but from now on, that’s it — you have to stop there," drawing laughter.
Poongja then candidly admitted that she hoped her kind gesture would spread as a good story. In a post-credits clip, she shared a surprising experience from her recent moving day.
"Yesterday, I was moving into my new home and receiving furniture deliveries," she said. "One of the installers was working and suddenly said out of nowhere, 'Oh, I thought you were that person.'"
Poongja explained that the installer continued, "You know, the one on TV — I thought you were Poongja. Oh, that person is way too fat, really too fat."
Poongja recalled that she was at a loss for words in that moment, saying, "I couldn’t exactly say, 'That’s me,' right?" expressing how awkward it felt.
She then added, "But I think he realized at the end. Since many teams came to the house — refrigerator installers and all — one person even said to me, 'I’m such a big fan,' as they passed by."
She revealed, "Then that first guy’s eyes went wide, and he quickly said goodbye and left in a hurry," making viewers burst into laughter.
Meanwhile, Poongja also recently appeared on MBC’s 'The Manager' and shared, "I now weigh 22kg less than when I was at my heaviest," surprising everyone with her successful weight loss update.
