According to the cultural contents industry on October 24 KST, Min Hee Jin, former CEO of ADOR, has established a new entertainment company by the name of ooak (pronounced oh-kay).
The company was successfully registered on October 16 KST, with its business areas being entertainer management, music and album production and distribution, and performance and event production. This marks Min Hee Jin's seeming return to the entertainment industry approximately a year after her departure from ADOR in November of 2024.
Based on the registration, the company is supposedly located in the vicinity of Sinsa-dong Garosu-gil in Gangnam. A building is currently under construction at the location in question.
Later this month on October 30 KST, the court will issue its initial ruling regarding the validity of the exclusive contract between the 5 members of NewJeans and the management agency ADOR. If the court sides with NewJeans, the members will be able to seek a new management company to resume their entertainment activities. Thus, Min Hee Jin will be able to sign them as artists at ooak.
However, if the court sides with ADOR, ruling that the exclusive contract between the artists and the management company remains valid, then NewJeans may be bound to their contracts until July of 2029.
Meanwhile, Min Hee Jin is also currently involved in a legal dispute against HYBE Labels over HYBE's one-sided termination of the shareholder contract.
