LUN8 member Chael showcased dazzling athleticism and speed at the '2025 Chuseok Special of the Idol Star Athletics Championships (ISAC)', earning a gold medal in the 60-meter sprint on the MBC broadcast aired on October 6 KST.
From the preliminary rounds, Chael dominated with overwhelming speed and powerful strides, finishing first among all participants. He maintained his lead through to the finals, crossing the finish line ahead of the pack and clinching the championship.
Cheered on by his fellow LUN8 members and their fandom LUV8, Chael expressed heartfelt gratitude after the win:
“I’m so proud to finally become someone the members and LUV8 can be proud of. I ran not for myself, but for my team and our fans, and that’s what pushed me to take first place. Thank you so much to everyone who supported me.”
Chael also drew attention by mentioning his mother, a former track and field athlete:
“Now I can proudly tell my mom I won first place.”
He continued with a warm message to fellow contestants, saying:
“All the artists who ran today did a great job. ISAC is the best!”
This marks Chael’s second consecutive medal in the same event, having earned silver in the 60m sprint at last year’s ISAC. With this year’s gold, he cements his status as one of the top “athlete-idols” of the 5th generation.
A former volleyball player and the tallest member of LUN8 at 186cm, Chael is known for his exceptional athleticism. Since debut, he has also taken part in ceremonial first pitches at pro baseball and volleyball games, showcasing his physical prowess both on and off the stage.
Meanwhile, LUN8 recently released their second single album ‘LOST’, gaining attention for their “dark sexy” concept. The title track “Lost” continues to receive strong support from global fans.
