Kim Gu Ra and Kang Ji Young of KARA have made peace, 12 years after their on-air clash over an “aegyo” request.
In a newly released teaser for the Oct. 15 episode of ‘Radio Star’ on MBC, the show previews a “Box Office Lupin” special featuring Kang Ha Neul, Kim Young Kwang, Kang Young Seok, and Kang Ji Young.
In the clip, Kang Ji Young says, "We can’t not talk about what happened back then. I even studied aegyo—what is aegyo, really?"—bringing up the 2013 ‘Radio Star’ appearance that sparked the incident.

Smiling, Kang Ji Young adds, "If someone asks me to do aegyo now, I’ll do it." Kim Gu Ra replies, "Let’s put it to rest now. Promise," and the two link pinkies on set.
Twelve years earlier, Kang Ji Young appeared on ‘Radio Star’ with KARA members the late Gu Ha Ra and Han Seung Yeon. When the hosts asked for aegyo, Kang Ji Young resisted, saying, "I really don’t have any—why do people keep saying I do?" Kim Gu Ra pressed, "If you don’t know, who would? If Kang Ji Young doesn’t know Kang Ji Young’s aegyo, who would?"
Fighting back tears, Kang Ji Young said, "I can’t do it. I don’t want to," before adding, "I really don’t have aegyo, but they keep asking," and eventually cried. Kim Gu Ra then apologized on air, saying he hadn’t realized she didn’t have aegyo.

Last month, on the YouTube channel ‘Jipdaeseong’, Kang Ji Young revisited the episode: "I’ve never said this, but my dog was sick that day," she recalled. "I shouldn’t have shown it as a professional, but a member cried in front of me and I got swept up by the mood. I think it was just adolescence." The new teaser, hinting at the two reconciling after 12 years, is drawing strong attention.
