K-pop girl group NMIXX made a strong impression on the global stage with a special appearance at a U.S. Major League Baseball (MLB) game, further elevating the presence of K-pop in American pop culture.
On August 1 (local time), NMIXX delivered a special performance at the Oakland Coliseum in California ahead of the game between the Oakland Athletics and the Arizona Diamondbacks. Member Lily performed the U.S. national anthem live, heating up the atmosphere in the stadium, while Sullyoon took the mound as the ceremonial first pitcher to officially start the game.
Before the match, NMIXX performed their hit songs “Love Me Like This” and “Know About Me” live, drawing enthusiastic reactions from local fans, Korean-American communities, and K-pop enthusiasts alike.
Also in attendance were former MLB players Kim Byung Hyun and Dustin Nippert, who filmed a talk segment with the group, creating a unique collaboration between MLB and K-pop. The full talk show featuring NMIXX and the two players will be available on the official MLB Korea YouTube channel.
Adding to the buzz, news recently broke that former MLB star Park Chan Ho and BTS member SUGA are expected to invest in the Oakland Athletics, drawing further attention from both Korean baseball and K-pop fans.
An MLB representative commented, “We expect that this collaboration with NMIXX will further expand the global connection between Major League Baseball and K-pop.”
