HUNTR/X and Saja Boys, the fictional idol groups from Netflix’s hit animation film ‘K-Pop Demon Hunters,’ have been the talk of the town since the movie premiered. HUNTR/X, also known as HUNTRIX, is a powerhouse girl group of three legendary demon hunters: Rumi, Mira, and Zoey. By day, they dominate music charts and sell out stadiums; by night, they protect humanity from demons and their ruthless king, Gwi-Ma.
On the other side, Saja Boys is a five-member demon boy band created by the demons themselves. Their mission? Defeat HUNTR/X and steal their fans’ hearts. Disguised as idols, the group consists of five members: Jinu Saja (the leader), Abby Saja, Mystery Saja, Romance Saja, and Baby Saja. The group blends supernatural danger with irresistible idol appeal, turning them into an overnight sensation.
Against all odds, HUNTR/X and Saja Boys have soared to the top of the charts in South Korea and worldwide, taking everyone by surprise, leaving K-pop fans amazed at how fictional groups from a movie could achieve so much. These record-breaking milestones are what many real K-pop acts dream of, yet struggle to reach even after years of dedication in the industry.
Let’s take a look at the incredible milestones HUNTR/X and Saja Boys have reached as they make history.
HUNTR/X
Achieving a Perfect All-Kill is one of the most coveted milestones for any K-pop act, and HUNTR/X reached this rare feat with their smash hit “GOLDEN,” which has already secured its 70th Perfect All-Kill and is expected to score more PAK.
“GOLDEN” also held the #1 spot on the MelOn Daily Chart for three consecutive days, proving the group’s staying power on South Korea’s most competitive music chart.
The track also reached #1 on YouTube Music South Korea this week, amassing a massive 7,596,854 streams.
“GOLDEN” is captivating global listeners too, peaking impressively at #6 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100. With this achievement, HUNTR/X became the first K-pop girl group ever to break into the Hot 100’s top 10, and notably, the first fictional act to do so since Hannah Montana.
Adding to their record-breaking run, “GOLDEN” climbed to #2 on the Global Spotify Chart with over 5,207,757 streams, underlining its worldwide popularity.
Saja Boys
The demon boy group, Saja Boys, has been turning heads with their infectious hits and made history by becoming the first K-pop boy group to reach #1 on US Spotify with their single “Your Idol.”
In South Korea, the group is making more noise with “Soda Pop” than with “Your Idol,” which climbed to a peak of #5 on the MelOn Daily Chart and reached #2 on other South Korean charts like Genie and Flo.
“Soda Pop” also reached an impressive #2 on this week’s YouTube Music South Korea chart, garnering a total of 6,100,538 streams.
Saja Boys’ “Your Idol” debuted on the Global Spotify Chart with 1.62 million streams, while “Soda Pop” followed with 1.39 million, ranking as the fifth and ninth highest debuts by a K-pop group in 2025 so far. “Your Idol” later climbed to #4 on the Global Spotify Chart, earning 3,725,008 streams.
Thanks to the success of “Your Idol” and “Soda Pop,” Saja Boys managed to chart not just one but multiple songs in the Global Spotify Chart’s Top 10.
Despite being fictional groups from an animated movie, both HUNTR/X and the Saja Boys have achieved real-world musical feats that have stunned both the audience and industry watchers.
