Netizens are questioning whether BLACKPINK will continue making group comebacks following their latest promotion.
On an online forum, netizens are debating the current and future status of BLACKPINK as a group, particularly amid the continued rise of newer-generation acts and shifting musical trends. Much of the discussion focused on the quality of their latest single, "JUMP," and whether the group is beginning to lose its 'freshness'—especially when it comes to maintaining domestic interest among Korean fans.
The user who started the thread expressed their "deep disappointment" with both the song "JUMP" and the choreography featured during the group's tour. They compared the performance to something that "a group like Norazo" might attempt, claiming that BLACKPINK has lost its stylish edge and is "overall going downhill."

Others agreed, commenting that BLACKPINK has "long since faded from mainstream attention and lost their spark as a trending topic," attributing this to the natural aging of idol groups over time.
Some also argued that BLACKPINK now seems to "have better synergy when promoting individually rather than as a group," and that their group dynamic "feels off" in recent appearances.
Meanwhile, Lisa's and Jennie’s stage outfit choices and gestures came under scrutiny again, with some netizens saying the members are "trying too hard to be extreme and deliberately over the top."

However, other netizens pushed back, stating, "No idol group that’s 'going downhill' sells out a dome in Goyang and goes on a world tour," dismissing the criticism as "ludicrous."
Supporters also pointed out how disheartening it is that "people try to comfort themselves by calling the most successful girl group as 'has-beens.'"
Some accused critics of attempting to pit BLACKPINK against TWICE, suggesting that they were TWICE fans trying to drag BLACKPINK down "just because their song outperformed TWICE's 'This Is For.'"

Overall, most commenters agreed that while BLACKPINK "enjoys stronger popularity overseas," their domestic performance does appear weaker.
They referenced enthusiastic responses from international fans in New York City who described BLACKPINK as the "real-life version of Kpop Demon Hunters (as HUNTR/X)," while the song's performance in Korea was underwhelming, with some labeling it "shockingly disappointing" for a BLACKPINK release.
Reactions include:
"They brought in a washed-up song from somewhere… they’ve already lost all buzz in Korea."
"How long has it been since BLACKPINK became old news... this is so late."
"I honestly couldn’t believe my ears with this song. How could they release something like this..."
"At this point, they’re already too old...ㅠ"
"BLACKPINK seems better off doing solo activities. Their group synergy doesn’t even come close to what they have individually."
"Korea will never fully embrace them lol. Ever since they started flooding their songs with English lyrics, they’ve been treated like overseas artists anyway. Might as well aim globally rather than trying to dominate a small country."
"Is Lisa gonna end up performing in a thong at this rate?"
"The song sounds like a trot song. It feels much weaker than their old stuff."
"This is literally a leftover song from someone’s archive—something 40-something aunties would sing. I watched the BLACKPINK MV and was so shocked by how bad it was."
"Not only in Korea, but they got crushed on the Billboard charts too by Kpop Demon Hunters. Even with energy from the spirit bomb, they flopped. This just proves that the third-gen girl group era is truly over."
"Yeah, BLACKPINK really is washed up."
"Honestly, they’re older now and past their prime… especially in Korea, people seemed completely uninterested this comeback ㅠ and the song itself was just bad."
"It’s too much...just reeks of tackiness."
"Honestly, their domestic results are disappointing. I wish the album was filled with Korean tracks."
"Getting obliterated by ALLDAY PROJECT is kind of wild lol"
"BLACKPINK ahjumma fans just can’t let go. That delusional stan energy is insane."
"The concert hair, makeup, and styling were pretty, but the song and MV were just blah. They should’ve just filmed the concert styling as the MV—it would’ve been way better."
"BLACKPINK stans were always so over-the-top that they were annoying to look at. Serves them right."
"If you go to the U.S., you'll see. Ask any random American elementary school girl and they all know BLACKPINK. TWICE? LE SSERAFIM?? They’ve never heard of them—it’s only Korean-Americans who know them."
"People overseas are praising BLACKPINK’s U.S. tour, saying it’s basically a real-life Kpop Demon Hunters concert."
"It’s hilarious that people think this post was made by a TWICE fan… lol weren’t they all doing their own thing now anyway?"
"People like you who never leave their rooms wouldn’t understand lol. Obviously this is a song meant for concerts and parties."
"What kind of 'washed-up' group sells out the Goyang Dome and goes on a world tour?"
"I’m not even a BLACKPINK fan but this comment is so ridiculous I can’t even take it seriously lol"
"Wow… this is just sad. Go ahead and call them washed-up if it helps you feel better ㅠㅠ"
"You wouldn’t even be able to name a girl group with a more well-rounded career than BLACKPINK, so why throw around the term 'washed-up' lol"
"If BLACKPINK is washed up, what does that make all those other girl groups falling off the Melon charts? BLACKPINK is still setting records lol"
"If BLACKPINK is washed up, what are the others then? lol"
"The dirty work from those aespa stans flopped hard and now they’ve gone delusional?? lol They tried everything and still couldn’t even crack Billboard or hit Melon Top 40. Just go stream your faves, they say they want to chart."
"If BLACKPINK is considered washed up, then no one in the entertainment industry deserves to stick around."
"If they were truly washed up, people wouldn’t even be talking about them lol. But even this 'washed-up' post has over 130 comments."
"Aren’t they the only girl group from the third generation still standing? lol"
"People are trying so hard to bring them down lol"
"You clearly don’t know what 'washed up' even means."
"They're still the top girl group right now, and the fact that their old popularity has carried all the way to today says a lot. Honestly, they’ve had their share of controversies, but it all got buried under their fame. As long as you’re famous and popular, fans will hype anything. Even though the new song and MV are whatever, it’s BLACKPINK, so it’s a hit. At this point, BLACKPINK is a brand like luxury fashion—they’ll succeed no matter what."
