The Japanese single album by virtual idol group PLAVE has topped major music charts in Japan.
According to Oricon on the 17th, PLAVE’s first Japanese single “Kakurenbo” recorded 221,385 points in the latest Weekly Combined Single Ranking (tracking period: July 7–13, 2025), earning the group the highest weekly points by an international artist this year, ranking No. 1.
PLAVE had already claimed No. 1 on Oricon’s Weekly Single Ranking, as previously announced. This also marked the highest first-week sales for an international artist in Japan in 2025, achieving a double crown on Oricon’s weekly music charts.
Furthermore, PLAVE also ranked No. 1 on Billboard Japan’s Top Single Sales, Top 100, and Hot 100 charts (released on July 16, tracking the same July 7–13 period), completing a quadruple crown across Japan’s major music charts, including Oricon. With this, PLAVE has proven their explosive popularity in Japan, showing a rapid rise since debuting in the country.
PLAVE successfully held their Japanese debut showcase in Tokyo on June 16, coinciding with the release of their single. Since then, the group has officially kicked off promotions, achieving remarkable results across both digital and physical sales.
On the day of release, the single made headlines by becoming the first Japanese-language song to enter the “Hall of Fame” on Korea’s Melon platform, a title given to albums that surpass 1 million streams within 24 hours of release. On the physical sales front, the album also debuted at No. 1 on Oricon’s Daily Single Ranking.

PLAVE’s Japanese debut single album includes three tracks. The title track “Kakurenbo” is the group’s first original Japanese song, reinterpreting their band sound with a Japanese twist. The album also features Japanese versions of their existing songs: “RIZZ – Japanese ver.” and “Chroma Drift – Japanese ver.”
Meanwhile, starting with a Seoul concert at the KSPO DOME in Olympic Park from August 15 to 17, PLAVE will embark on their first Asia tour, 'DASH: Quantum Leap,' marking their second anniversary since debut.
