Netflix reportedly considering a sequel and possible live-action adaption of 'K-Pop Demon Hunters'

The 'K-pop Demon Hunters' syndrome continues, as the popular animated film has broken another record, becoming the most watched animated Netflix film of all time.
Released on June 20, the film quickly captured the hearts of viewers and K-pop fans all around the world, causing a global sensation. Even the original soundtracks from the film topped various charts, including Spotify and Billboard HOT 100. According to the chart released on July 15 (local time), eight songs from the 'K-pop Demon Hunters' original soundtrack have made it onto the HOT 100.
To ride this high wave, Netflix is reportedly contemplating a sequel and possible live-action adaptation of the animated film.
According to TheWrap, Netflix is currently in discussions about expanding the 'K-pop Demon Hunters' into multiple projects. The media outlet stated, "Netflix is referring to the project as its 'Frozen' or Disney Princesses franchise – a property that has tapped into the zeitgeist on an unprecedented level and one that the streamer plans to exploit across various channels and mediums, according to two people familiar with the company’s plans. Among the projects being bandied about at Netflix are a stage musical, live-action remake, series, and, of course, a pair of sequels to round out a full-on 'KPop Demon Hunters' film trilogy."
Not only that, Netflix is planning to partner up with various brands to expand its 'K-pop Demon Hunters' merchandise collection. TheWrap revealed, "The products being sold on Netflix’s official store have been among the most popular this year, even if the company was caught flat-footed early with just a few items. Netflix plans to partner with several outside partners, which will see 'KPop Demon Hunters' flood local malls and big box stores."
Although there hasn’t been an official announcement or confirmation of the expansion, there is high anticipation for the project, with the creators expressing interest and the ending of the first film leaving fans wanting more.
