Jennie is currently facing backlash from international fans after videos of her recent performance during BLACKPINK's 'Deadline' world tour has gone viral.
In the videos that now circulate across various social media platforms and online communities, Jennie is seen stopping mid-way during the group's "DDU-DU DDU-DU" performance while the members carry on. The videos have re-sparked the "Lazy Jennie" criticism online, which started during the group's past 'BORN PINK' tour.
Additional footage filmed from a different angle shows Jennie standing with one hand on her waist, which quickly catches Rosé’s attention. Rosé then appears to lean in and ask if Jennie is okay, sparking further discussion among fans. Following these videos, more footages were released showing additional instances where Jennie had not fully committed to performing the choreography.
This is not the first time Jennie has faced such allegations. Jennie has been accused of showing a lazy attitude during performances throughout her career. Many fans previously pointed out Jennie's change in attitude and criticized her for being "careless" on stage.
Back in 2023, she drew criticism from international netizens who accused her of lacking energy and frequently leaving the stage mid-performance. At the time, many argued that her behavior showed insincerity toward fans. Now, in 2025, the same accusations have resurfaced following the latest videos.
Jennie's latest videos sparked heated debate among international fans, and the discussion soon caught the attention of Korean netizens, who gathered in popular online communities to share their own opinions. There was a mixed reaction with some defending Jennie while others pointed out that Jennie has constantly faced the same criticism.
"She’s always at the center of every controversy. Honestly, isn’t she embarrassed in front of her members? She’s such a burden."
"Jennie still got good news recently. She was even appointed as Seoul’s tourism ambassador. What are your idols doing~~?"
"She became the first Asian female artist to sell out two weekday shows in Canada with over 50,000 people each. But why are there so many people defending her? Honestly, this isn’t right… even overseas, people are criticizing her."
"Her in-ear monitor broke, and they’re spreading that one moment everywhere. If she were really performing half-heartedly, there’d be more proof after nine concerts."
"If this keeps happening, even fans need to speak up. I dislike a lack of sincerity more than a lack of skill. It feels like she’s looking down on her fans."
"Only Jennie seems to get shielded this much, no matter what she does."
"If you nitpick every idol frame by frame, none would survive. It’s crazy how some people obsessively target Jennie even after 10 years."
"This kind of controversy happens too often with her."
"She deserves criticism. She makes a huge amount of money for just 2–3 hours of performance, while staff in the back work for little pay."
"The group is so overrated. Their songs and dances aren’t that great, but they still get hyped. Except for one member, their skills and attitudes are poor."
"International fans criticizing her are scarier. The smoking controversy was bad too. Foreign fans don’t hold back."
"Honestly, it’s enviable. Barely dancing and singing, yet making a fortune while tickets cost a fortune."
"She has so much talent, star power, and individuality. That’s why it’s a shame that her sincerity on stage is constantly questioned."
"Maybe smoking has hurt her stamina, and that’s why she struggles with choreography?"
"Since this comes up every concert, she really should pay attention. It hurts both her and her fans when controversies blow up."
"They’re making a huge deal out of one show where her in-ear device malfunctioned. If idols can get taken down by that, who can survive?"
