BLACKPINK faces streaming setbacks after hacks affect their Spotify, Apple Music, and Shazam rankings

BLACKPINK's latest comeback has been marred by a string of alleged hacking incidents, resulting in disruptions to their streaming performances.

The incident began when their latest track "JUMP" secured the No. 1 spot on the Global Spotify chart. However, the results were allegedly compromised by a hack, as the song credits were mysteriously transferred to ghost artists named Blocky and Nerim. As a result, the track was removed from playlists, forcing playback to automatically start from the No. 2 song instead.

Although fans quickly mobilized with a mass hashtag campaign that restored the song within hours, another hack occurred the very next day. This led to a sharp decline in BLACKPINK's streaming momentum, with "JUMP" losing more than 1 million stream counts.

The hacking didn't stop there. The credits on Apple Music were hacked soon after, with credits altered to 'The Blackpink' and the affected track playing back at fast-forward speed. This resulted in the group's song dropping completely out of the daily rankings.

The credits on Shazam were also hacked, with BLACKPINK's "JUMP" being credited to Recep Kahraman.

Korean netizens and fans are expressing frustration as the group faces these repeated hacking incidents across multiple platforms during their full group comeback. They commented:

"It's true being on the charts is really important..."
"Who's doing the hacking?"
"The issue with being removed from playlists has been happening for days... This is driving me crazy."
"What is YG even doing? Why aren't they fixing this?"
"That's what I'm saying."
"Did they seriously use the same password everywhere? How are multiple platforms being hacked like this?"
"Didn't they hack right when the numbers were peaking? They're literal villains."
"How can something like this even happen... It’s so malicious."
"Wow, so this kind of hacking is even possible?"
"So it’s basically stealing music revenue? That’s nasty."
"But what’s with their security... How can this even happen?"
"But who’s supposed to manage this? Do the streaming sites not have to monitor it??"
"Who’s doing this? A globally insane person, clearly."
"Seriously, what’s YG doing...?"
"Doesn’t BLACKPINK have a U.S. agency too??? Why aren’t they taking action?"
"So only BLACKPINK gets hacked and loses out? This is so frustrating."
"BLACKPINK antis are seriously unhinged... Even hacking charts just to ruin their path forward...?"
