VIVIZ releases first full-length album 'A Montage of ( )' — “This album is a new beginning”
On July 8th KST, girl group VIVIZ (Umji, SinB, Eunha) officially released their first full-length album, 'A Montage of ( )'. The album features the title track "La La Love Me" along with the members’ first-ever solo tracks, raising fans’ anticipation.
Describing the project, VIVIZ shared: “The parentheses in the title represent our belief that no matter what fills the blank, we can make it our own color. It’s an album that reflects on the past and opens the door to the future.”
Q&A with VIVIZ
Q1. This is your first full-length album since debuting as VIVIZ. How do you feel about it?
Umji: A full album holds a lot of meaning, so it feels even more precious. I think of it as a sort of pit stop, where we can look back on our journey so far and envision the road ahead. I hope it becomes an album that satisfies the fans who have been waiting.
SinB: Full albums are always significant for both artists and fans. This one involved a lot of trial and error, but we gave it our all. I really hope fans enjoy it.
Eunha: Since our re-debut as VIVIZ, both we and our fans have been longing for a full-length album. I’m thrilled we can now share so many diverse tracks.
Q2. What does the album title A Montage of ( ) mean to you?
VIVIZ: It reflects our determination to make anything that fills the parentheses into our own story. It’s an album that organizes our past and leads us toward new beginnings.
Q3. Can you tell us more about the title track La La Love Me?
VIVIZ: It’s a vibrant track with lots of surprises. At first, it might sound like a classic upbeat summer song, but there are twisty elements throughout. It becomes even more dynamic when performed live.
Q4. Which track on the album is your personal favorite?
Umji: Citrus. I loved the demo version even before the lyrics were finalized. The final version turned out just as I’d hoped.
SinB: Wildflower. We pre-released it during our concert last year. The lyrics feel like they tell our story—it’s a very touching song.
Eunha: Hands Off My Heart. It’s catchy and grows on you with each listen. I think it perfectly matches our voices.
Q5. This album includes your first solo tracks. What should fans look out for?
Umji: I paid special attention to the recording details to bring out the melody and lyrics. I also challenged myself by choosing a track that’s mostly in English.
SinB: My solo ended up being the most intense track on the album. Since it’s just my voice from beginning to end, I really focused on keeping things dynamic. Look out for the contrast between the strong beat and my soft vocals.
Eunha: I struggled to find the perfect solo track, so I ended up making one myself that fully reflects my taste. Listen closely to the dreamy melody, colorful arrangement, and fitting lyrics!
Q6. Any memorable moments from the album-making process?
VIVIZ: Every moment! With every album, we’re reminded of how precious we are to each other. These songs truly shine because we have one another.
Q7. You’re also starting your second world tour 'NEW LEGACY'. What can overseas fans look forward to?
VIVIZ: We’re just as excited as you are. We can’t wait to finally show in person what you’ve been watching online. Let’s make it a heartwarming reunion.
Q8. What’s your goal for this album?
Umji: I hope people say, “I want to keep listening to and watching VIVIZ performances.”
SinB: I want people to think, “VIVIZ has a whole new color again?” We want to be remembered as a group with endless shades.
Eunha: I hope we become a group loved by even more people.
Q9. Finally, any message to your fans?
Umji: To our Na.Vs! Our first full-length album is finally here. Some of you may have been looking forward to this more than we have. I hope it becomes a beautiful memory. We’re happiest when you’re happy!
