Some viewers are expressing discomfort over BTOB member Yook Sung-jae's shocking performance in the latest episode of 'SNL Korea,' in which he sniffed his private part as part of a comedic skit.
The controversial moment aired in Episode 10 of 'SNL Korea Season 7,' which premiered on June 7. Yuk Sung Jae appeared as the final host for the seventh season, closing it out with a bold acting transformation.
In the sketch, Yuk Sung Jae played a man dubbed an "Estrogen Male" or "E-gen Nam," who gets dumped by his girlfriend Ji Ye Eun for a more masculine "Testosterone Male" or "Te-to Nam." Determined to win her back and get revenge, he undergoes intense "Te-to Nam training," shedding his idol image in favor of long hair and a fake beard.
Actor Kwon Hyuk Soo portrayed Ji Ye Eun's new boyfriend with a wild hairstyle and macho persona. In one particularly outrageous scene, Kwon Hyuk Soo put his hand down his pants, sniffed it, and rolled his eyes dramatically. Shocked, Yuk Sung Jae’s character looked on in disbelief. Kwon Hyuk Soo then declared, “This is the smell of a real man,” before insulting Yook Sung Jae’s masculinity and walking off with Ji Ye Eun.

Left alone, Yuk Sung Jae hesitates but ultimately mimics Kwon Hyuk Soo’s move, putting his hand down his pants, sniffing it, and says, "It smells like baby powder." He then cries out, “I want to become a Te-to Nam,” in a parody of dramatic character transformation.
After the episode aired on Coupang Play, the scene quickly spread across YouTube and social media. Some viewers reacted with shock, commenting, “What did I just watch?”, “How much did he get paid to do this?”, and “I’ve been a longtime fan of Yuk Sung Jae, but now I’m reconsidering.” Others added, “If my favorite idol had done this, I would’ve been horrified,” and “Please, I hope my fave never appears on this show.”
This isn’t the first time SNL Korea has sparked criticism. The show has previously featured high-profile actors like Kim Sa Rang and Moon Chae Won, known for their elegant and innocent images, taking on explicit, R-rated roles that some viewers felt were excessively bizarre or tasteless.
