On May 15 KST, VLAST, the agency behind virtual K-Pop boy group PLAVE, announced the following regarding legal measures to protect the rights and privacy of the boy group members.
Read the agency's full statement on malicious activity including insults, defamation, invasion of privacy, and stalking, below.
"VLAST would like to make clear that it is consistently monitoring any and all accounts of malicious activity targeting the members of PLAVE, including insults, defamation, malicious comments, posts aimed at exposing the identity of the members, and invading the privacy of the members through stalking.
First, VLAST would like to provide an update on previous lawsuits filed against malicious netizens. The perpetrators have been sentenced to a fine after a criminal investigation and are in the process of fulfilling their sentences. Additionally, in March of 2025, VLAST pursued another series of lawsuits against several individuals infringing on the rights of the PLAVE members by exposing their identities online or creating malicious posts. Several of these individuals have recently been identified and are under investigation by the police. VLAST intends on pursuing strict criminal punishment as well as civil damages with a zero tolerance policy against all such cases.
Second, VLAST has confirmed accounts of alleged fans attempted to follow the PLAVE members or approach them in person, actions which qualify as stalking. Such actions are severely harmful for the members' physical and emotional health and constitute a clear violation of the law. In order to promptly pursue legal action for stalking, VLAST has obtained evidence including CCTV and blackbox footage. The agency intends on pursuing criminal punishment as severe as a prison sentence for those individuals persistently stalking the members of PLAVE.
There is absolutely no justification for anyone obtaining or sharing private information about the members, including their whereabouts, their homes, their vehicles, etc, nor can any explanation justify actions such as photographing or filming the members without consent, invading their privacy. As such, we ask all fans to make an effort to create and maintain a healthy fan culture.
Finally, VLAST would like to sincerely thank the fans for your continued interest in protecting the members of PLAVE through your detailed reports. VLAST promises to do its best in the future to protect the rights of its artists and maintain a healthy fan culture. Thank you."
