On April 7, the production team announced, “The film ‘7 AM Breakfast Club for the Heartbroken (tentative title)’ (directed by Lim Sun Ae) completed filming last month.”
'7 AM Breakfast Club for the Heartbroken' is based on a novel of the same name and tells the story of a man and woman dealing with the pain of a breakup. Filming began in December last year and wrapped up last month.
Suzy takes on the role of Sa Gang, a flight attendant who falls into a forbidden romance with pilot Jung Soo (played by Yoo Ji Tae). She adds delicate emotional layers to the realistic storyline. Suzy shared, “I was happy to work with such a great director and cast. Watching a novel I enjoyed being adapted into a film brought up complex emotions.”
She added, “Just like I felt comfort while playing Sa Gang, I hope the audience also finds warmth and solace through this film,” expressing her affection for the character.
Lee Jin Wook plays Ji Hoon, a consultant and lecturer who experiences a breakup after a long-term relationship with teacher Hyun Jung (played by Geum Sae Rok). He portrays the nuances of a longtime lover with depth.
Reflecting on the end of filming, he expressed mixed feelings: “I’m happy but also a bit sad. I gained such positive energy from this project.”
He added a heartfelt message: “While playing Ji Hoon, I worked hard to convey the emotions of a breakup. I hope the audience will feel warm empathy and comfort.”
Director Lim Sun Ae also shared her thoughts on wrapping up filming: “Thanks to the efforts of the cast and crew, we were able to finish shooting. I’ll continue to give my all through the post-production process.”
Meanwhile, '7 AM Breakfast Club for the Heartbroken' is aiming for a theatrical release in the second half of this year.
