Actor Park Seo Joon has subtly addressed the recent controversy surrounding allegations that he took a jab at fellow actor Kim Soo Hyun through a social media post.
On March 18, Park shared a heartwarming update on his pet dog, Simba, via his social media account. He posted a photo of Simba with the caption, "Simba update♥," followed by another comment, "My baby update♥," expressing his deep affection for his pet.
Park's relaxed and casual demeanor seemed to downplay the swirling rumors about his alleged attack on Kim Soo Hyun. The controversy began after Park posted on March 16, "What did I do in Paris? Garo," alongside photos from his recent trip to Paris, France. This seemingly harmless post unexpectedly sparked speculation that it was aimed at Kim Soo Hyun.
The rumors gained traction when Kim Se Eui, the head of the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute, claimed in a live broadcast on March 17 that Park's caption carried hidden meaning. Kim stated, "Isn't this very suggestive? Kim Soo Hyun's nickname used to be 'YouTuber Kim Paris.' 'YouTuber Kim Paris' reportedly exchanged romantic letters with Kim Sae Ron (nicknamed 'Serone' by Kim Soo Hyun). And then Park Seo Joon posted 'What did I do in Paris? Garo,' which could be interpreted as a reference to Garo Sero (horizontal and vertical)."
Kim Se Eui added, "I even left a comment on Park Seo Joon's post saying, 'I'm rooting for you, Park Seo Joon.' The friendship between Kim Soo Hyun and Park Seo Joon seems to be extremely fragile."
However, fans quickly dismissed the theory as baseless, noting that Park Seo Joon had previously used the term "Garo" in captions before. For example, in December last year, he posted a photo from his trip to Miyazaki, Japan, with the caption "In Miyazaki Garo."
Park's latest post about Simba, paired with his calm response to the controversy, appears to have put the rumors to rest.
