The 'SBS Entertainment Awards' is considering hosting in January next year amid scheduling adjustments.
As reported exclusively by Star News on December 31, SBS is actively considering rescheduling the 'SBS Entertainment Awards' to January 2025.
Originally, the 2024 'SBS Entertainment Awards' were slated to occur at 8:40 PM on December 31 at the SBS Prism Tower in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. However, following the tragic Jeju Air crash at Muan Airport, SBS decided to cancel the event, taking into account the nation's sentiment and the prevailing social atmosphere.
Unlike other year-end award shows from certain broadcasters that were pre-recorded privately and later aired, SBS announced on December 30 that they would not proceed with any recordings. The broadcaster further stated that decisions regarding the announcement of award results and their format remain undecided.
SBS is now focused on rescheduling the event for January 2025 and is currently working on adjusting the schedules of participating celebrities to accommodate the new date.
