Kim Do Yeon opened up about Weki Meki's disbandment.
The idol-turned-actress sat down for an interview to promote the horror-comedy film 'Amoeba Girls and School Horror Stories: Anniversary of the School Opening' in which Kim Do Yeon plays aspiring horror movie director Ji Yeon. On Weki Meki, Kim Do Yeon expressed, "I have a lot of regrets after the disbandment of Weki Meki. The other members feel the same way. We worked hard together, didn't we? So while it’s disappointing, we now need to pursue our own paths."
She shed tears, adding, "It was unavoidable. I think it's the time we spent working hard that makes it feel regretful. The members are all finding things they love to do, and we all see this as the second act of our lives. I don't want to carry this sense of regret forever; I want to gather courage and start anew happily."
Kim Do Yeon further shared that she's still in contact with her former fellow members, saying, "Yesterday, my member Choi Yoo Jung told me some encouraging words. All the members came to the movie premiere yesterday. The more I want to do well, the more I notice my shortcomings, which makes me reflect. I thought about wanting to gain confidence quickly, but Yoo Jung said, 'You're the best' and 'You're doing so well.' Hearing that support shattered my worries. I realized that I'm doing fine now and will continue to do well step by step. I began to feel hopeful about my future development, which gave me courage."

The film stars Kim Do Yeon, Son Joo Yeon, Jung Ha Dam, and Kang Sin Hee, and it marks director Kim Min Ha's feature film debut.
