On March 19 KST, group OMEGA X provided an update on the status of their legal proceedings against their former agency, Spire Entertainment. According to OMEGA X's agency, "Following a thorough investigation, it was confirmed on March 12, 2024, that an assault had taken place. As a result, Kang Seong Hee will be prosecuted."
Regarding the complaint regarding business interruption, which was filed in conjunction with the assault case, the agency stated that they withdrew the complaint due to reaching an agreement on the main lawsuit for the termination of the exclusive contract. However, they emphasized that they are currently pursuing investigations related to defamation of character, obstruction of business, and other matters.
The agency also addressed a temporary injunction granted to Spire Entertainment in January 2023, suspending OMEGA X's exclusive contract. They expressed frustration over the continued spread of false information despite the legal decision, stating that it damages the members' prospects for resuming activities.
"We are fully cooperating with the legal investigation, backed by clear factual confirmation and specific data," the agency stated. "We possess evidence refuting distorted claims and reports, which we plan to disclose in the future. Our priority is to safeguard our artists and facilitate their return to the industry."
Meanwhile, Spire Entertainment announced that they would hold a press conference on the same day regarding the forced harassment case involving OMEGA X. Former CEO Kang alleges past sexual harassment by OMEGA X members and intends to release CCTV footage of the incident.
