On March 6, NewJeans was invited to the 2024 Billboard Women in Music Awards in Los Angeles, California as they were named The Group of the Year.

After being named 'The Group of the Year' for the 2024 Billboard Women in Music, the girls were also featured on the Billboard Women in Music issue and celebrated for their achievements. 

Billboard highlighted, "Since debuting in July 2022, NewJeans has swiftly ascended to the top of the K-pop pantheon. Six of its eight released singles have reached No. 1 or No. 2 on South Korea’s dominant streaming measure, the Circle Digital Chart. The act has made inroads on several Billboard charts as well, including three top 10 hits on the Global 200 and four on the Global Excl. U.S. chart, five entries on the Billboard Hot 100, and six top 10s on World Digital Song Sales (the highest-reaching was “Super Shy,” peaking at No. 2 last July)."

At the award show, NewJeans performed their hit tracks "Super Shy" and "ETA."

NewJeans also hinted at new music and comeback during their interview before the event. 

Danielle shared, "We can't spoil too much but we're preparing and practicing hard and we can't wait to share new music with everyone. So, we're really looking forward to it."

Meanwhile, Billboard Women in Music is an annual event organized by Billboard, honoring the women in the music industry who made outstanding contributions to the music industry. This year, NewJeans was named 'Group of the Year,' being recognized for the countless hits they released since their debut in 2022.
