On January 6, 2024, the '38th Golden Disc Awards' were held at the Jakarta International Stadium in Indonesia and honors the best of South Korean music. Here BLACKPINK's Jisoo marked a new historical milestone in South Korea after obtaining the “Most Popular Artist” Award. She is the first female soloist in 16 years to obtain this award since Taeyeon last accomplished this in 2008.
The only Female Soloists to have won the “Most Popular Artist" Award at the Golden Disc Awards history are Kim Soo-hee (1987), Min hae kyung (1990), Kang Susie (1991), Choi Yeon-je (1993 ,1994), Baek Ji young (2006), Taeyeon (2008) and Kim Jisoo (2024).
