Fans express heartache after hearing TWICE's Jihyo say she had a hard time the past 8 years

In the relentless pursuit of their dreams, many idols find themselves caught in a whirlwind of success, often at the cost of leading a "normal" life. In the fast-paced world of K-pop, where ambition and dedication are the keys to reaching the pinnacle of one's career, it's not uncommon to hear idols leading an extremely busy schedule.

This sentiment, while extreme, speaks to the immense sacrifices and dedication required to achieve greatness.

Recently, fans and K-netizens were heartbroken after hearing one idol speak candidly about the busy life she's lived for the past eight years, so busy that she was unable to live a "normal" life.

TWICE's Jihyo recently opened up to her fans during her fan meeting about the struggles she faced while living a life as a K-pop idol.

One fan shared Jihyo's words on a popular online community, Instiz, and explained, "She said she was really too busy and couldn't live like a normal person. It might sound so extreme to say it like that. But she said she never regrets that time." The fan added, "That statement really hurts my heart. (TWICE) would sometimes have 8 releases in a single year, including Korean and Japanese albums, and they have to film music videos for them. They would film even 10 music videos throughout the whole year. They also had to do showcases, Asia tours, arena tours, and they consistently released music throughout the year. She once said there were times she wanted to give up and she would say that with a smile on her face. When I think of all of TWICE's hit songs, I know how hard TWICE worked so it hurts my heart and I'm so thankful that she doesn't regret that time."

Other fans joined the community and commented, "I feel like she would feel so many different emotions because the TWICE we know today exists (because of all their hard work)," "Jihyo... :(" "Of course it's probaby tough for all idols, but when you think about TWICE's frequent comeback schedule, it really would have been challenging for them," "At least she was able to earn that much money for all her hard work...I'm envious," "I cried when I heard that at the fan meeting event...Because fans know how much they suffered but it's the first time she said it personally herself like that," "I heard JYP doesn't give the group much time to prepare for thier comeback, lol. As soon as they have the song, they have to learn the choreography in one or two days, then they film the music video right away," "TWICE did have an extreme busy schedule," and "I do feel like TWICE didn't have any hiatus period."

Not trying to downplay Jihyo or any other idols relentless hard work, but many people, all around the world bust their ass for decades trying to provide for their themselves and their family. I guess you can turn anything into a story if the person is famous enough.

Just because she's simply done well for herself, she is a celebrity and she achieved a high financial status, commenters here want to say, "boo hoo - poor her", and claim zero sympathy towards her, and that millions of other people are having struggles also, so her story is nothing special at all.

Tell me - of those millions of other people -

1) are ANY of them in the public eye 24/7/365,

2) if any of them mess up in the slightest, are they put under a magnifying glass by millions of people,

3) judged by a mass public every day of their lives

4) hated on by large groups of people time and time again for senseless reasons

5) have every part of their lives from morning til night scrutinized, right down to what they eat and what they wear,

6) have to read hateful comments about themselves from nasty people all the time,

7) have their weight and fitness criticized all the time in public forums

8) have to deal with delulu fans

9) constantly read and hear nasty rumours about themselves that aren't even close to true,

10) have media constantly up their butts

Many of you use the "she's a celeb so she's not like the average person" line - why? Cuz she might be financially in a better position than others? Money isn't everything, and it's no reason to downplay what she's feeling. In fact, as hard and mean and nasty as many of you are to some of these idols, she's being shamed by you why? Because she worked hard and earned what she has? That's no reason to hate on her, and it's no reason to think that she has it easier than others. For what these people go through on a daily basis, it's probably much more than any of you could handle, and she does it without going off on others like many of you would do if you were in her position. She has never once flaunted what she has financially, she's always very sweet and graceful to others. It's really sad to constantly see people on here judging someone harshly because they have been successful. Nothing will satisfy many of you, and that's a real shame.
