Former labelmates showed support after Girls' Generation's Sunny left SM Entertainment.
On August 8, Sunny's fellow Girls' Generation member Sooyoung responded to her Instagram post announcing her departure from SM Entertainment. Sooyoung showed support, saying, "Sunny, I'll always cheer you on, and I'll always be with you." Former labelmate BoA also commented, "We'll always cheer on Sunny whenever."
Sunny parted ways with the label after 16 years, personally delivering the news to fans on Instagram. The Girls' Generation member left the agency after former founder and chairman Lee Soo Man, who's known as Sunny's uncle, bid the company farewell this past March.

Good for her. I’m not surprised. I hope she enjoys whatever she chooses to do. But I also think her leaving won’t hurt SM as much.
