Netizens think 'Boys Planet' contestant Yoon Jong Woo's older sister spoiled his results from the upcoming third elimination

AKP STAFF

Netizens think that the older sister of Yoon Jong Woo, currently a contestant on Mnet's 'Boys Planet', has spoiled her sibling's ranking results from the upcoming third elimination episode. Some are demanding that Yoon Jong Woo receive a penalty as a result, as any spoilers from the competition are strictly forbidden, and contestants are often highly discouraged from notifying their family or acquaintances of any ranking results in advance.

The issue arose in the early morning hours of April 11 KST, when Yoon Jong Woo's older sister wrote via Instagram,

"You used to say that you wanted to live a respectable life like me, but in my eyes you are plenty respectable right now, my dongsaeng.
Thank you for always telling me that I am your role model. I'll keep on living with my best effort so I can be a noona that you can be even more proud of.
#Let'sLiveWithRespect #YoonSiblings
Also, whatever anyone says, to me you are always #1.
To all of the precious fans cheering for my younger brother and being concerned for him, thank you sincerely.
I think Jong Woo is doing great..!
Please stick with him until the end.
#A_HeartwithConviction_IsWhatMattersMost."

Based on the above, and especially referring to the sibling's comments that "Jong Woo is doing great" and "please stick with him until the end", some netizens speculated that the older sister was indicating Yoon Jong Woo's successful advancement into the final round.

In response, some commented,

"His noona was thoughtless. The other contestants all have families too. Do you think they don't know how to use Instagram? They do too, but they don't use their famous families to look for attention like you."
"It is a spoiler, but since this week isn't a voting period, technically it's not going to affect any of the other contestants."
"It's not exactly a direct spoiler. She didn't say anything like, 'Keep on voting for him!', because that would have been a direct spoiler."
"Everyone is on high alert for potential spoilers right now, including false ones, so this was not the right time to post that about your brother."
"It might be a spoiler, but removal from the show isn't necessary. Maybe he should get a small penalty."
"So he wasn't eliminated? I didn't want to find out this way, dang it."

Since then, as if conscious of the fans' reactions, the sister's Instagram posts have been deleted.

What a load of garbage. Jong Woo was already ranked 15th and he's popular, so it's not a huge stretch to imagine he got into the next round of 18. It will be more of a surprise if he doesn't get in. The Instagram post might have been a little unwise, but it hardly counts as a spoiler. He was clearly feeling down after the last round and she was just expressing that she's proud of him regardless and letting fans know that he's doing ok. The people calling for him to be penalised over this clearly have their own agendas and are being extremely petty.

it just sounded like she was encouraging him, to me. its good that she is encouraging her family. those netizens are just looking for a reason to be triggered about something. the upcoming artists need encouragement rn. it is a stressful time.
