Former actor 'A' has been sentenced to 1 year in prison for illegal philopon use.

According to reports on March 15, the Suwon District Court sentenced 'A' to 1 year in prison and ordered him to complete 120 hours of a drug addiction rehabilitation program. 'A' was arrested and underwent trial for administering methamphetamine in the form of philopon several times between August and October of last year.

The court stated, "The defendant is reflecting on the crime, but drug crimes are addictive and a harm to the foundation of society. We considered the fact that the defendant took a significant amount of drugs and was punished for the same crime in the past."

'A' is said to be a former actor in his thirties.
