HYBE is considering an acquisition of stake in SM Entertainment.
On February 9, HYBE confirmed reports the company was looking to purchase shares of SM Entertainment, stating, "We're continuously reviewing matters related to purchasing SM Entertainment shares on the open market as well as acquiring shares. As of now, nothing has been confirmed." HYBE further stated they would release an announcement related to the situation within a month.
The news of HYBE's possible acquisition of SM Entertainment shares comes after Kakao Entertainment was revealed to have purchased a large share of SME.
In related news, Lee Soo Man is currently moving forward with a lawsuit against SME for violating business laws.
