A Japanese tourist in Korea violently attacks a taxi driver because he didn't understand Japanese

AKP STAFF

A Japanese man in his 20s viciously attacked a Korean man in his 60s in the heart of Gangnam, Seoul.

According to a December 13 statement by Seoul police, the Japanese man, who was heavily intoxicated at the time of the incident, was recently arrested after assaulting a taxi driver in his 60s due to the driver's inability to understand Japanese.

The Japanese man was seen chasing an elderly man on the streets, pushing him to the floor, and punching and kicking him. Despite the people on the street trying to intervene, the Japanese man persisted in pursuing the elderly taxi driver and violently attacking him.

The taxi driver recounted that when the Japanese tourist got in the taxi, the passenger spoke to him in Japanese, but as the driver was unable to comprehend the language, the Japanese man became aggressive and began to assault him. In an attempt to escape, the driver fled the taxi, only to be pursued by the Japanese man on the street.

The taxi driver suffered injuries on his hand, neck, and back, requiring three weeks of treatment. The taxi driver explained he could not return to work due to the trauma, even though two weeks have passed since the incident.

You know what's funny? If the Japanese guys did that in Japan, they'll get heavier sentence than they will be getting in S.K. Why? Alcohol related crimes cases gets leniency in S.K. for many reasons, mainly not to ruin the alcohol industry.
