Lee Jung Joon to take over late actor Lee Ji Han's role in MBC drama 'Kkokdu's Gye-jeol'

AKP STAFF

Late actor Lee Ji Han's role in the drama 'Kkokdu's Gye-jeol' has been recast.

On November 7 KST, a representative for the upcoming MBC drama announced that actor Lee Jung Joon has now joined the cast. Lee Jung Joon first debuted in the 2017 KBS drama 'Queen for Seven Days,' appeared in 'Best Mistake 2,' 'Two Cops,' 'Class of Lies,' 'Kairos,' 'Squid Game,' and 'It's Beautiful Now,' and currently appears in the SBS drama 'Cheer Up.'

The drama is a fantasy romance in which Kkokdu, a god of death who comes down to this world to punish humans every 99 years, meets a doctor with mysterious abilities and works as a visiting doctor. Kim Jung Hyun, Lim Soo Hyang, Kim Da Som, and Cha Cheong Hwa will also appear in the drama, which is scheduled to begin airing next year.

Meanwhile, as previously reported, Lee Jihan, who is also known for his former participation in Mnet's idol survival program "Produce 101 Season 2" died in the recent Itaewon tragedy. He was 25 years old when he passed and was filming 'Kkokdu's Gye-jeol' since last month.

Please keep Jihan's remaining work. Can the drama be revised? Not in the same context, but something similar to Charlie Sheen in "Two and a Half Men"? It would be thoughtful to keep Jihan's presence in the drama...

I don't get why people are against this. They are most likely going to Lee Ji Han's scenes and are going to have Lee Jung Joon fill in the remaining scenes. People don't seem to understand when on an episode limit and with the script already written it's hard to write out a character part way through. Especially because dramas typically film scenes out of order so they could have already filmed scenes referencing an important moment his character was there for but they hadn't got around to filming yet, and it becomes a case of you can't scrap the scene because it's important but if you do it without his character there it would be weird for people watching the drama without the knowledge of his death as to why that character has knowledge of events that they weren't at
