K-netizens wonder how Kang Daniel "accidentally" said the name of a rival company during a PPL segment on the live broadcast of Mnet's 'Street Man Fighter'

Kang Daniel was again embroiled in a controversy during a PPL (Product Placement) segment.

On November 9, Kang Daniel apologized for accidentally saying the wrong advertisement product name during the live broadcast of 'Street Man Fighter.' Kang Daniel's agency, KONNECT Entertainment, stated on the singer's behalf, "[Kang Daniel] saying the wrong brand name was a mistake. He experienced a moment of confusion due to the heated atmosphere of the final broadcast. To the viewers and the advertisement brand, we apologize."

The issue arose when Kang Daniel was hosting the live broadcast of the finale of Mnet's dance competition show 'Street Man Fighter.' During the program, Kang Daniel said, "Thank you to our advertisement officials. 'Trevi' is delicious! Just kidding. But I am half sincere."

The issue with Kang Daniel's statement was that the sponsoring brand for 'Street Man Fighter' is 'Seagram' and most definitely not 'Trevi,' which is Seagram's biggest competitor. Kang Daniel's slip of the tongue seems to have backfired on 'Seagram,' as their funds ended up being spent to promote their competitor brand.

Even after Kang Daniel's apology, K-netizens continued to debate this issue and continued to wonder how Kang Daniel made the mistake of saying the wrong brand name when the names are not even similar.

Netizens commented, "What is up with this kid? How many times has this been?" "He keeps making tongue slips," "I don't think we'll see him as the main MC ever again. He talks so thoughtlessly. He's lucky he wasn't sued," "I can understand if he made a mistake in the name saying something that sounds like Seagram but he said something that doesn't even sound like it and the competitor's name instead," "How does he make that kind of mistake," "Can he just stay still for once?" "Is it a real honest mistake?" "I can't relate to his mistake. He knows it's a live broadcast, he should have prepared better," "What kind of excuse is that? He should have prepared better," "I hope he isn't chosen to do main MC anymore," "He is really thoughtless, geez," "This isn't his first time, so I don't think it was an accident," and "Wonder if he was trying to be funny. But it wasn't funny at all."
