Jimin continues to prove his 'Dance King' status as Professor Oh references him in her book on K-pop dance theory

Jimin is widely known and acknowledged for his nonpareil talent and skill in dance. Having trained in different dance genres in his early years [read here and here], he has developed a distinctive dance style that incorporates elements from each of the different dance genres, making it impossible to imitate his signature moves and thus placing him in a class of his own. In fact, he is ranked among the 'Elite King Dance line,' which consists of the top 3 dancers in the entire K-pop industry [refer here].

His immense popularity overseas has also earned him the title of 'King of K-pop' in that most people and even media outlets outside of South Korea will always associate K-pop with Jimin. For example, some people may not know much about K-pop or even about BTS, but they will definitely know who Jimin is.

With his widespread popularity and his unbeatable dance skills, it is not surprising that Jimin made an appearance in the first book ever on K-pop dance theory in the US. Not only was Jimin referenced in the book's text, but an image from one of his iconic stages could also be made out on the book's cover!

Reports show that since the book's release in July, it has drawn lots of interest in the US, ranking #1 in New Release in Communication and Pop Dance on Amazon!

The book's author, Professor Chuyun Oh, extensively praised Jimin's dance, saying that he blurs the boundaries between Western and Asian dance and also between classical and contemporary dance.

The Professor also used Jimin's legendary 'I Need You' solo stage performed at the 2019 MMAs in introducing the book in a lecture series by the Dance Studies Association. Notably, this image is the same one that can be seen as having been referenced on the book's cover. The book had other images of Jimin as well, such as when he was practicing the 'Black Swan' performance.

Fans were elated on hearing this news which further reinforced his legacy and his impact in K-pop and across the world. Here are a few of their reactions.

Jimin has made his mark in the K-pop industry as the standard of a performer, and thereby in the world in general as he has become a representative figure of K-pop to the world. It is heartwarming and a major source of pride for his fans to see him gracing the covers of books and even being used as a reference in matters of dance in such publications aimed at reaching the whole world. He is a legend and will forever be remembered as one of the most iconic dancers/performers not just in K-pop but in the world!

King! This is so amazing, that our Jimin is gaining recognition from industry people. MMA 2019 solo dance, Fan dance, and black swan solo... I can't choose which one I love the most among Jimin's iconic dances.
