BTS's Jimin is the king of sold-out and has a formidable high brand reputation. Whenever he wears or endorses a product, the desire for it is induced, and soon the item is off the shelves.
After the release of their anticipated anthology album Proof, BTS followed this up with promotional activities on Korean music shows. In one of their promotions at SBS, Inkigayo Jimin was spotted looking radiant in a cropped open collar black striped cotton sweater by the French luxury brand CELINE worth ₩1.25 Million (~965 USD). The exquisite item was later reported to have been sold out in all available sizes on the official website showcasing his incredible brand power.
To further reaffirm his status, Jimin once again sold out another item from a French brand; a Casablanca color block white Cardigan worth a whopping $955. The idol was seen looking regal in the outfit during BTS' ARMY membership renewal video message, and the outfit was soon out of stock in the Hirshleifers store.
Last month Jimin looked stylish and casual at the airport when arriving from BTS' invitation to the White House in a Sandro Polo sweater, black pants, Bottega Venetta sandals, and a bucket hat. Soon after this, the Bottega Venetta sandals were sold out on the brand's official website. The see-through nude-colored SANDRO sweater also sold out on Farfetch, and the H&M jeans bucket hat also went out of stock after attracting a lot of interest for being a unique accessory item. He also sold out the Zadig & Voltaire T-shirt worn during the pre-recording on music shows.
Jimin, who holds the record of being the first and only Male idol to occupy the #1 position on the Korea Brand reputation rankings for 41 months, was said to be the decisive factor for BTS Louis Vuitton ambassadorship, and after he headlined the #LVMenFW21 show last year the term Louis Vuitton frontman was accorded to him. In December last year, during the 6th Paris Luxury Summit, his Louis Vuitton teaser video from #LVMenFW21 was used by Patrick Calmels, the luxury head for Twitter, when talking about the special bond between luxury and Twitter.
Jimin is not only known for adding value to high-end high luxury goods. His very own customized With You hoodie and Red carving earrings also attracted attention selling out in a split second even after restocking three times on the Weverse app. This showcased a great demand for his products and popularity. It was also because of his customized merchandise that trending insights on American consumer and market intelligence firm NetBase Quid showed Jimin to be the most mentioned person in the Apparel and accessories category, surpassing Yves Saint Laurent, Bella Hadid, and more.
