BTS' Jimin's 'Serendipity (Full Length Edition) becomes his second solo song to be eligible for RIAA Gold Certification in the US

On March 3, statistics on music sales in the world's largest music market, the US, indicated that Jimin's Solo song 'Serendipity (Full Length Edition)' has now become eligible for RIAA Gold Certification after selling over 500k units on this market. This news comes just under a month after another of Jimin's solo songs, 'Lie,' had also been reported to have recorded this same achievement on the same music market [read here]. As such, Jimin is now the first and only Korean idol with two of his solo songs having surpassed 500k units in sales in the US, thereby setting a new record.

As per current standings, there have only been two other solo songs under the BTS discography to have sold over 500k units in the US thus far, one of which is Jimin's. Therefore, two out of the only 3 BTS solo songs to be eligible for RIAA Gold Certification in the US are by Jimin, and this is such an impressive and mind-blowing achievement, considering the fact that Jimin does not even have an official solo debut yet...

'Serendipity (FLE) has been highly successful on various music buying and streaming platforms globally since its release. So far, it has surpassed 184 million streams on Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform.

It has also achieved #1 on iTunes in 53 countries worldwide as of February 19th.

Fans celebrated Jimin's new unprecedented achievement in the K-pop industry by trending tags and keywords on Twitter, including Congratulations Jimin, JIMIN RECORD MAKER, JIMIN HIT MAKER, and #Serendipity500kUnits, among others.

Here are some of the reactions from fans as they expressed their pride in him and praised the unparalleled artistry that sees him set and break records every other day, be it those set by other artists or even those set by himself.

Congratulations Jimin!
