SF9's Jaeyoon will expand his career as a musical actor.
On September 15 KST, FNC Entertainment stated, "Jaeyoon was cast in the musical 'Founded' for the role of Lee Bang Won".
The musical 'Founded' has the meaning of 'opening up a new country for the first time'. The story contains the historical era of the fall of Goryeo, the founding of Joseon, and the political upheavals of important figures including Lee Sung Kye, Lee Bang Won, and Jung Mong Joo. Lee Bang Won, played by Jaeyoon, is a character who leads the founding of Joseon and later rules as King Taejong. He has a bold and cold personality due to his strong sense of leadership.
Jaeyoon has been widely recognized for his singing skills through various stage performances and programs. So despite Jaeyoon joining the musical in the middle of its run, many expect him to naturally adapt to the musical and show strong synergy with his co-stars. Jaeyoon will likely reinterpret the character of Lee Bang Won in his own style, and convey a different charm. Jaeyoon, who is making his musical debut through 'Founded', stated, "I'm excited, but also nervous and shaky, that I'm doing a musical for my very first time. As it is a genre I have a lot of interest in, I will work hard and prepare well to not interfere with the other actors in this project. Also, I am practicing a lot in order to give back to my fans who have been supporting me and waiting for me. Please look foward to it."
The musical 'Founded', starring Jaeyoon, will run with audiences until October 24 at the SH Art Hall. The second ticket reservation slot will begin on September 15 at 2PM KST.
