2PM's Taecyeon has updated fans during his break from the military.
On March 15, Taecyeon took to Twitter for a long-awaited live stream session with his fans. After presenting himself wearing a mask, he greeted his fans with a wide smile. During the live stream, the 2PM member communicated with his fans from all over the world, showing off his English skills and a brand new ukelele, gifted to him by 2PM's Wooyoung.
When he first enlisted back in 2017, Taecyeon had been applauded by the public for voluntarily enlisting in the army despite being a permanent U.S. resident. Furthermore, although he had been diagnosed with a herniated disc pain not long before, Taecyeon had declared himself as a full-time military officer after undergoing a period of surgery and physical therapy.
Seeing Taecyeon's actions, netizens left heaps of positive comments, referring to him as "an exemplary public officer" and leaving messages such as: "I hope that only those who serve as good models (in society) show up on television", "I like Mr. Ok", "Ok Taecyeon, you're amazing!", "So kind, so diligent, so cool, and I envy you.", "after seeing so much news about folks like Seungri and Jung Joon Young, my eyes are adjusting to the brilliant light that is Taecyeon."
In other news, Taecyeon signed a new contract with 51K back in July, with promises that he will also continue to promote as 2PM under JYP Entertainment. He will be officially discharged from the military on May 16, early than scheduled.
