'Weekly Idol' to be revamped + Kim Shin Young, Yoo Se Yoon, and Lee Sang Min are leaving

MBC Every1's 'Weekly Idol' will be going through some major changes. 

On November 21, a rep of MBC Every1 announced the idol show will be revamped in January 2019. The current MCs Kim Shin Young, Yoo Se Yoon, and Lee Sang Min are leaving the show. The main producer and staff members are also going to be changed. The new MCs are not yet confirmed. 

Back in February, Jung Hyung Don and Defconn left 'Weekly Idol' after 7 years. Kim Shin Young, Yoo Se Yoon, and Lee Sang Min have been taking charge since April.

Not to be harsh but thank god. I did not connect with the new host at all,they just seemed so awkward for the program

I actually like all three MCs individually but there is no denying that the show took a major dive once they took over. Doni and Coni aren't gonna comeback with Idol Room doing so well but hopefully they'll be able to secure a duo or trio with more CHEMISTRY! The next MCs need to be people who already know each other and work well together.


There's no denying that hosting a show like Weekly Idol is a difficult job, you kinda have to do the OPPOSITE of what you're usually expected to do on other shows, you have to allow yourself to fade into the background a bit and make the guest of the week the star of the show. Not everybody has the skill to pull that off.
