All 7 members of BTS renew their contract with Big Hit Entertainment one year in advance

According to Big Hit Entertainment on October 18, BTS have renewed their contracts with Big Hit for another 7 years. Currently, BTS are in their 6th year of promotions since their 2013 debut, meaning that they still have one more year to go in their initial contracts. However, it seems that Big Hit Entertainment decided to offer the members of BTS a firm and innovative step, moving forward in their successful careers.

Big Hit stated, “With deep trust and affection as the basis of our decision, BTS have decided to renew their contracts with us for 7 years. It is Big Hit’s philosophy that an artist who is showcasing immense achievements worldwide deserves to be treated with the best type of treatment. Through lengthy discussions, the 7 members of BTS decided to renew in order to ensure their long-lasting, stable careers. We plan on strengthening the size and capacity of the current staff team in charge of BTS, which numbers over 100 team members as of now, and we promise to not withhold our most wholehearted, systematic support and investments toward BTS.”

BTS also revealed through their label, “We greatly admire our mentor Bang Si Hyuk, who envisioned our careers from before our debut to now, and even for the future to come, and who opened our eyes to not only the world of music, but also to our outlook on life. We will do our best with Big Hit Entertainment, who has supported us unconditionally all these years, in order to show our fans worldwide an even better image.”

Best of luck to BTS for another 7 years!

Ok but see this new community thing is really annoying already. Because now you have to look out for the authors of the articles. I read the title of this article and my first thoughts were "Is this a troll article?" or a "delulu and unconfirmed fan article?". You just can't shake the mistrust towards every article now, because you don't know if it's a user-made article or an actual hired reporter behind it. Unless you know who's hired reporters and who aren't, but I don't :/ I only remember the names of 2 hired reporters. And based on the content alone, I can't actually judge the reliability of this, since no source link is given for me to research myself...

Sorry for talking about something unrelated here. Congrats to BTS, Bighit and ARMY if this is true!

Worst feature ever is to let normal users let us publish articles, the amount of shit posting it could bring is insane. Are they trying to be some sort of reddit? It's different if it's in the forum since people are there to discuss their opinion and things they find out. It's very different from the front page where people are looking for actual news and events that are happening with our faves. :/

No surprises their, Big Hit making millions from only one group, an that one group keeps making history, noone else can be so lucky to have such a good CEO that lets them do their own music , how many other talented artist are out there trapped in a company not getting to show their own music how they want to

I still remember a few days ago... ALLKPOP posted an article which beside from "some expert analysist".

They said that BTS might will left Big Hit because Big Hit Ent was a troublesome company and has a lot debt.

ALLKPOP success made KEPOSHIT cheering and happy for BTS might left Big Hit, so... Big Hit won't beat their faves company.

.

Unfortunately, a few days later, which means today...

ALLKPOP write an article that beside from BIG HIT ENT... announce that BTS already RE-NEW THEIR CONTRACT WITH BIG HIT ENT FOR 7 YEARS LATER...

BIG SLAP RIGHT ON YOUR FACE HATERS... FOR YOU TOO ALLKPOP...

BIG HIT, BTS AND ARMY WILL ALWAYS TOGETHER TILL THE END.

SO, BE PREPARE FOR A LOT OF MESS IN KPOSHIT COMMUNITY.

Makes sense, even with all the possible love calls they get from other companies, Big Hit has always paid well and let them have the creative freedom to do what they want (but since he is their producer and CEO it makes sense when he rejects things from time to time). No other company is going to give them a better deal (besides making their own) than what Big Hit gives them now. I hope for a long and prosperous future for both BTS and Big Hit.

This is what you do as a company when you have a golden group on your hands! BigHit seems to have learned from other companies’ errors. You’re good with your groups, you feed them well, give them what they need to be successful and think of them like human beings, not property. That’s the way you’re successful too!

Also, I know you spent money on the site AKP but I liked it better b4, its just too overwhelming and the titles can't be seen properly, like the article titles were very noticeable before and now I have to pay attention to find them on the main page. Please still keep the icons for how many people have seen the article. I don't know, maybe I will get used to it but this feels too clinical.

BTS is the best with Big Hit..

They are free to make their own music and Big Hit always hear their opinion..

BTS choose to renews even though they still have 1 year left, it's mean they are really trust and comfortable with Big Hit..

I'm so happy for them..

Another 7 years with BTS.. ^^

I honestly agree. I feel the past year or so has been a really steep path down a road I don't like to see - talented artists getting a quick rise to fame (especially after basically being ignored for a few years during debut and rookie, as they didn't hold much popularity within South Korea at the time) that are exploited in international markets because they became popular. And artists that have already changed to fit said international markets.

Artists that aren't even really near the age of 30 and have already worn themselves down so hard that they're having to sit out from performing and/or interviews due to their bodies giving out on them from all the strain and pressure. They need sleep, and they need to stop being milked to death for the profit of Big Hit. Unfortunately, I don't think it will stop until they lose their novelty in the international market and/or someone, somehow, decides to break or end contract early due to unforeseen circumstances (ie injury, personal, or otherwise).

I hope only for their continued success, but signing a seven-year contract with a company that is quite wishy washy in how they handle a LOT of things, and a company that relies solely (currently, anyway) on JUST BTS as a money maker, and a company that is milking them for all they are worth and running them into the ground physically and emotionally? No bueno.

Good for Bang Si Hyuk, he is cashing in on his investments very well. It must be nice to have a golden parachute. BTS does not need to prove anything going forward, they have a fanbase that will keep them as one of the most successful Kpop groups ever. Win - Win on both fronts.

TBH it feels like BigHit is only concerned in BTS's popularity overseas and the profit that they make from the attention that they are receiving internationally. At this point, it just feels like they are being used. (think about it: if they hadn't become this popular, they would be on their way to disbandment & of course BigHit only wants to keep them around to keep them in the public eye & to stay relevant) I can't help but to think that no matter how successful bts becomes, something about this plan will backfire (this happens all the time when companies try to exploit/change their groups for global popularity) and put the boys in a bad situation.

Share

1

taemkitten Thursday, October 18, 2018 4
Thursday, October 18, 2018

I'm not sure if they would have ultimately disbanded if they hadn't received such attention internationally, but I have to agree with the fears that all of the exploitation of their talent and willingness to perform even while they are injured or in some sort of bad way (malnutrition, improper sleep, injuries, etc) is going to be the downfall in some way, and I hope it's for the company and not them on a personal level if that's the case.

It worries me that they're being run into the ground hard, and that internationally, Western attention of Kpop artists and non-Western "fads/trends" is fleeting. People tend to move on quickly from the bandwagon they jumped on to begin with. It doesn't help that a lot of the current fans that are bringing the biggest hype to the group are young, impressionable, and as seen in the past with other groups will likely move to the next big thing that comes out and grabs their attention.

The members of BTS deserve more than to become, for lack of a better term, sell outs via their company continually pushing them into collaborations with Western artists, into the Western award shows, television shows, magazines, and industry. It would be great if said industry would be more accepting and inclusive of Korean (and other "foreign" artists) but unfortunately it still seems that others outside of predominantly English-speaking nations are seen simply as trends and novelties, and I'm afraid similar to PSY, they are soon to become just that in the Western market: a novelty.
