Off The Record Entertainment confirms Japanese IZ*ONE members will take hiatus from AKB48 until 2021

IZ*ONE's new agency Off The Record Entertainment has released an official press announcement regarding the future activities of the group's Japanese members.

Before earning their spots in the 'Produce 48' project group, the three girls -  Sakura Miyawaki, Nako Yabuki, and Hitomi Honda - were all active members of the J-Pop idol girl group AKB48.


In the September 24 statement, Off The Record Entertainment confirmed that it has been decided the girls will take a hiatus from AKB48 for two years and six months to promote as members of IZ*ONE. They will resume their AKB48 activities in April 2021.


Meanwhile, they are currently recording IZ*ONE's debut album with the other nine members. The group is expected to make their debut in October.
