On September 16, BoA took to her Instagram to congratulate legendary Japanese diva Amuro Namie (41) on her retirement from the music scene.
BoA wrote, along with a photo of Amuro Namie, "When I stood in front of you I wasn't able to say anything.. but you were my idol when I was young and I think that from here on, sunbaenim's amazing performance will always remain in my memories.. Thank you for showing me stages where I could learn so much. I'm cheering for the human Amuro Namie sunbaenim's life from now on!! .... Sunbaenim really.. I love you!!"
The Japanese pop star, who made her debut at the age of 14 in 1992, held her final, retirement concert back on September 15 at her hometown of Okinawa. At the peak of her career, Namie was a pop, dance, and fashion icon among fans in Asia.
