Shortly after 'Along With The Gods 2: The Last 49 Days' premiered in Korea on August 1, it became the second film of the series to attract over 10,000,000 moviegoers to theaters. As a result, anticipation for the final installment of the film trilogy runs high. But what will the 3rd film be about?

If you've seen the first 'Along With The Gods' film, you'll be familiar with EXO D.O.'s character, a soldier named Won Dong Yeon. The soldier becomes involved in a freak gun shot accident with his superior, Kim Soo Hong (played by Kim Dong Wook). Then, when audience went to see the second film, they found Kim Soo Hong's story continuing in the afterlife. Furthermore, at the very end of the 2nd film hinting at the upcoming 3rd film, D.O.'s character Won Dong Yeon makes a brief appearance.
Many are wondering whether or not much like Kim Soo Hong, Won Dong Yeon will also face various trials in the afterlife in the 3rd film. Especially due to the fact that previously, director Kim Yong Hwa said in an interview, "If a 3rd film happens, of course Do Kyung Soo (D.O.) will be in it." It's also been reported that director Kim Yong Hwa has already inquired about D.O.'s availability to film the 3rd 'Along With The Gods' movie.
Industry insiders expect that filming for the 3rd 'Along With The Gods' film may not take place until 2 years from now, as it will be difficult to bring together the same cast at once. Due to the time gap between the premiere of the 2nd film and the 3rd film, some expect director Kim Yong Hwa to introduce newer stories to the series rather than continuing directly where the story ended in film #2. Nothing is confirmed, however. Reportedly, director Kim Yong Hwa will be meeting up with actor Ha Jung Woo later this month in order to draw up an outline of the next movie.
