A Thai woman has been arrested for scamming K-Pop fans.
According to Korea Tourist Police on June 4, a 39-year-old woman from Thailand was arrested for scamming.
The police state the woman entered South Korea on a tourist visa in February and was in Korea until May. During her stay, she scammed fans with concert tickets and albums of GOT7 and NCT.
There are reports of 26 scams involving over 100 fans. The woman obtained 11 million KRW (10,271 USD), according to the police.
The woman scammed fans via social media. Fans who never received the purchased items made reports to the police and the woman was arrested.
The woman traveled in and out of Korea over the past 7 years on a tourist visa.
The police commented, "You need to be suspicious when someone tells you they can find you a large number of concert tickets to popular Hallyu stars concert and asks you for money."
