'Unexpected Love' completed filming back in 2016. At the time, the State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television stated the film will be unhindered by the THAAD issue between China and South Korea. However, the premiere date kept being postponed for 2 years.

According to Chinese media outlet Sina on June 21, 'Unexpected Love' is finally coming to theaters in China this summer. The details on the premiere date will be announced in the near future.
'Unexpected Love' tells the story of a Chinese singer (Lay) and Korean dancer (Krystal), who fall in love despite cultural differences.
